Hi and welcome to the Readers’ Café – a place to gather and to share. The Buda Restaurant in Puerto Madero, Argentina, is warm and inviting. Come on in.

Please help yourself to food and a warm beverage of your choice and make yourself comfortable. Then sit back, relax and join in the conversation by posting comments below. Don’t be shy.

Hit your internet browser’s REFRESH button to see new comments as others join in the conversation. All that I ask is that you respect others and keep it relatively family-friendly. Also, keep in mind that this is a public space, so share what you feel comfortable sharing publicly.

Today’s conversation starter is:

What are you most thankful for this year? In what ways do you express your gratitude?

Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action.

Right now, it is set up on the School District’s network and they have locked it off of the internet. We have to talk to the IT dept. and find out what permissions we need to get access. Can’t do windows updates or anything right now. Nor can we download programs.

Let’s definitely get together at some point during the holiday. And Kurtis can show off his computer to Darrell!

It is a good thing that I am married to a techie. I would certainly be lost without the behind the scenes knowledge that he has.

The funny thing is that people ask me tech questions all the time. I guess they figure I have learned tech stuff through osmosis or something:) I do actually understand most of the lingo but as for fixing and all that stuff…you might as well ask me about Rocket ships.

I do know I can live without a MAN…but an in-home techie…that would really be pushing it

lol I meant “most definitely” to “techies are a good thing” not to we’d be fine without you.

I guess I should head off. My boy has homework (at least I think it is intended for him). We have math and reading tonight. We best get it done or I will be scrambling through breakfast trying to catch him up.

Karen, what are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Comment by Glenda

November 21, 2007 @ 7:07 pm

Thank you everyone for coming and sharing at today’s Readers’ Cafe. The people I’ve met through the blogosphere and my book sales this past year are what I am most thankful for, next to my supportive husband. Granted, being on the New York Bestselllers List with millions of sales would be nice, but I would miss the personal connection with my readers, which I value so much. Meeting some of you at BlogWorld was icing on the cake!

Happy Thanksgiving to my friends south of the border! And to the rest of you! Why limit Thanksgiving to only once a year?

Hi Glenda

I am new here and to your blog, but I have just added you on skype, you may remember!

This is a great idea indeed and I love the way you set the scene for us.

I have read above the chats and they are all so inspiring, as you are too.

I am thankful to the Lord for sending me people that I can help one way or another. All he has to do is keep giving me the energy too.

I will keep this brief, because of pressing jobs etc, BUT you are beautiful and I like the quote earlier that God does not make mistakes when he makes us all. He just makes UNIQUE people that’s it.

God Bless and chat again soon, maybe on Skype.

Regards Laurie Leask

Welcome to the Readers’ Cafe, Laurie! Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. It is readers like you that make the experience.

Your B&B looks very inviting. Perhaps we’ll hold Readers’ Cafe there one Wednesday.

Hello Glenda and everyone 🙂

Ange here from Melbourne, Australia.

I hope I am not too late!

I am thankful for the beautiful friendships that I have made and that I am so blessed to have been connected with Glenda.

Glenda, you are awesome and I love what you do and how you go about it. I read through your blog from time to time and I saw the photo’s you posted from Vegas.

We do not have thanksgiving here but I would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. It is the little things like smiles, words, and gestures that people make that makes the world a better place.

God Bless
