Receipt for Legal Deposit in Library and Archives Canada

One reason for self-publishing my autobiography I’ll Do It Myself, rather than holding out for a six-figure book deal from a large American publisher, was to be eligible to have my book placed in Library and Archives Canada. Today I received the Receipt for Legal Deposit! My book is now preserved in Canada’s published heritage. I have now left my mark on Canadian history; an emotion-filled moment for me.
Grandma, who avidly supported “Made in Canada”, would be so proud. I feel her smiling down from heaven, giving me one of her bone-crushing bear hugs.

If anyone reading this happens to visit Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa, I would love a photo of my book on the library shelf.

American publishers, now I am all ears!

If you enjoyed this post, consider buying me a chai tea latte. Thanks kindly.

Glenda,
I just stumbled onto your blog… was curious about blogs, and what they are about so I figured I would look for one about living with a physical disability… and there you were. Thank you.

I am the very proud Mom to a beautiful, smart, funny 21 year old with quad CP, no left thumb typing for her! I am putting the word out about your book… I’ll be in touch with an order soon… and a pic of your book on the shelf at the Archives… I work just around the corner. God bless you… now I have to go read some more of your adventures.
Sharon, Ottawa
