Mom holding me as a baby, in front of my first Christmas tree
On My Christening Day

On a personal note, I would like to acknowledge one of my loyal readers, my Mom. She is a fairly new computer user, having sworn she would never have a need for one. She has taught herself how to surf the web and to send email. I’m so proud of her!

When I was on my “40 Blogs in 40 (Business) Days” virtual book tour, she came along to every stop, making the experience extra special for me. She frequently goes back through previous posts to see if there are any new comments. (I still need to find and install the ‘Recent Posts’ and ‘Recent Comments’ plugins.) She understands what I am talking about when I mention words like blogging, podcasting and Technorati ranking. How cool is that!

Mom recently sold her house in Alberta and is moving to a destination still to be determined; it may be Prince Edward Island, it could be Saskatchewan or it might be somewhere else. She is spending some time camping in her fifth wheel trailer before deciding where she is headed to next. Meanwhile I’ll miss being connected in this way. Besides, who will point out the typos in my blog posts?

To you, Mom, on beginning the next the chapter in your life’s journey. May it be a safe yet fulfilling one!

I hope you are back online in time to join me for my “Summer Sojourn” virtual book tour!

If you enjoyed this post, consider buying me a cafe mocha. Thanks kindly.

Thanks for the tribute Glenda. I will certainly miss your blog postings and all the comments from your readers. BUT no power, no phone, and no basement[!]will be a joy at least for a while. I have packed some knitting and hand quilting and I am ready for my next adventure. I will have to rely on the old snail mail method but I will catch up with your blog at some point. Good luck with Blogging for a Year! Luvya, MOM

Your mother has bequested you with the genes of self determination, confidence to take risks and a grand sense of spirit and humour!
I am so proud of your collective gene pools.
Good luck in your new journey Heather.
I would love to meet you one day. We probably have a lot in common having raised/raising 4 children and understanding that having a child with cp takes us to places of profound inner growth and celebration. Take care, Debbie Havusha

The next time your mom comes by to check out your blog, I want to tell her thanks for being such a cool mom. She’s clearly done a lot with you, and helped you find your way forward in this world.

After reading your book, I feel like I know a lot about your Mom, which is silly to think, but I do know that she really did a lot for you (like lots of moms do).

You’ve got a keeper, Glenda. : )
