Thanks Kati!

How are you finding Proloquo2Go to use? Does it suit your needs?

I enjoyed making pages, here are some of my earlier ones.

I’ll be glad when it gets word prediction to speed up longer sentences and spontaneous chat, but would only be able to manage this on iPad in landscape mode.

I did find I can just about manage it on iPhone when its in the chunky case (iMaingoX) using just thumbs as can keep forearms in supported position whereas on iPad screen is too wide so buttons have to be larger to give me a bigger target and allow for more shaky movement over larger screen.

I find I use P2G very differently on iPhone where the in-built qwerty keyboard is too small for me.

Here’s some iPhone screenshots.

From your blog its sounds like we have similar difficulties with fine motor control except I wasn’t born with mine so its a been a bit of a steep learning curve! I’m hoping to get tips from your book on how you manage day to day things.

I just finished reading your book on my iPhone. I choose it because one of my best friend second child has CP and the other reason is I had to choose a book for my exceptional child class and I chose yours. You gave me a new way to look at the world and any person with exceptionalities. I am researching apps for the iPad and iTouch that will help people/children communicate who are considered “none verbal” and have limited use of their hands. Dylan (my friends son) uses his thumbs like they are rockets. I would love to hear about any ideas you have about alternate communication devices. Thank you for writing your book. It has changed my life forever.
