Virtual Book Tour Takes Glenda Back to Chicago

Filed under: Virtual Book Tour — by at 12:39 pm on Friday, March 2, 2007

Today, on my virtual book tour, I am making another trip to Chicago (and still no Oprah!) to chat with Scharlene Redway of Full Circle Global Mentoring, Inc. Mentoring is another topic close to my heart; in fact, my one and only “j o b” was making my alma mateer’s Career Mentoring Program accessible to alumni and students with disabilities. Enjoy our interview and check out how you can win a copy of my autobiography I’ll Do It Myself. Thanks Scharlene.

Yesterday, Liz posted the final part of our conversation. My response to her question “If you could tell the whole world something once, have them believe you and understand, what would you tell them?” has started an interesting conversation on Liz’s blog. Feel free to add your thoughts too.

Thanks Liz for hosting my appearance as four-part conversation. It was an interesting spin on the typical Q&A interview. And, I have a feeling we will be sharing more in the near future!

I would also like to thank Rick Cockrum for the mention in his blog post Happiness, Emotion, and Fulfillment – Part III. Yes Rick, I am a happy woman. I am at a point in my life where I am content and fulfilled; it is a peaceful feeling.

I am now off to my ‘live’ Board meeting, Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. I will be back here Monday for another exciting week on the virtual book tour.

Have a great weekend!

If you enjoyed this post, consider buying me a chai tea latte. Thanks kindly.

The virtual book tour is a fantastic idea, Glenda. It’s getting your message out. I hope it has been as profitable for you in terms of book sales. Have a great weekend?

Glenda adds: thanks for the mention on your blog this morning, Rick. That definitely helps. As for book sales, I’m sure they will start pouring in soon!

Glenda,

Thanks for sharing your story with Liz. I came across it on Friday and was very encouraged.

I had been looking for a personal testimonial of courage in the face of adversity, and knew I had a wonderful example in your answer to her question on March 2, 2007. My post that includes your answer is called Choosing to Live Rather Than Whine.

The delay between then and now was the time it took me, a new blogger, to learn how to put a link into a comment.

Glenda,

Looks like I did not learn it yet. Sorry about that. The post is at http://tariq.squarespace.com/thekitchentable/2007/3/2/choosing-to-live-rather-than-whine.html

My blog is the Kitchen Table, at http://tariq.squarespace.com.

By the way, I would appreciate knowing how to properly embed a link in a comment. It seemed to work when I tested it. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Tariq,

Thanks so much for the stopping by my blog. And for writing the wonderful post on your blog. It is definitely a choice to live or to whine, though what is the point of whining? Life is too precious to waste time on more than the occasional whine.

Welcome to the blogoshpere. I hope you find it as exciting as I do.
