Taking a Day Off from My Virtual Book Tour

Filed under: Virtual Book Tour — by at 2:06 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2007

I decided to take today off from my virtual book tour “40 Blogs in 40 (Business) Days”. Mundane tasks like bookkeeping and quarterly tax reports are calling, unfortunately. Please join me tomorrow as I’m off to Chicago.

In the meantime, enjoy the previous stops on my book tour. Copies of I’ll Do It Myself can be ordered from this site. Although PayPal is being used to take online orders, you do not need a PayPal account – simply have your credit card ready. I also gladfully accept cheques and money orders.

If you have already read I’ll Do It Myself, thank you! I would love to hear your thoughts, comments and questions. Feel free to post a comment below.

Make it an awesome day!

Virtual Book Tour Takes Glenda Down Under

The spectacular vista of the Gold Coast, Australia

After a late night and some fast typing, I caught up with Des Walsh in the Gold Coast region of eastern Australia! As a business coach and blogging evangelist, Des sees blogging with its powerful, accessible and low cost tools, as an ideal tool for small and micro businesses to get known globally and make more rapid progress — the main reason for undertaking my virtual book tour “40 Blogs in 40 (Business) Days”!

Taking time out of promoting his new audiobook Big Biller,
Des and I chat
about how communicating online can lead to deeper connected relationships, about how my left thumb can’t keep up with my brain’s racing thoughts and ideas, and other such topics. Please join me down under where they are having a heat wave!

Thanks Des, it was great!

Never Give Up is the Key When Living with Cerebral Palsy

Filed under: Virtual Book Tour — by at 2:40 pm on Monday, January 29, 2007

Welcome to the second week of my virtual book tour “40 Blogs in 40 (Business) Days”, promoting my newly released autobiography I’ll Do It Myself.

Today, I am off to Carlsbad in Southern California to speak with Judi Finneran, a health and fitness coach. I felt good doing this interview with Judi because we touched upon a couple of meaningful topics: how to deal with obstacles and keys to success when living with cerebral palsy (or with any challenge, which includes nearly everyone in one way or another). The bottom line is I problem solve until I find a way around, over or under the obstacle, or I hold on tight and barrel on straight through and carry on my way.

Judi, who is blogging about her journey to a healthier self, beautifully sums it up:

Whether it is a physical disability or being overweight, each of us deserve to hold our head high and be proud of all we do which is meaningful and wonderful.

Please come back tomorrow to see where my virtual book tour takes me next. At this moment, the destination is unknown! The adventure of my life continues…

My Autobiography “I’ll Do It Myself” Gets Known Now

Filed under: Virtual Book Tour — by at 7:12 pm on Friday, January 26, 2007

From Texas I head back to New York to chat with Suzanne Falter-Barns of Get Known Now. Last spring, I won Suzanne’s Mega Marketing Makeover, designed to increase my presence and online marketing. With finishing the writing and editing my book I’ll Do It Myself last summer and fall, I had to put aside my makeover work. My left thumb types only so fast! Now that my book is completed and printed, I am looking forward to resuming the Marketing Makeover.

Please join me for today’s interview with Suzanne in which I share why it is important that I share my life’s experience. I also discuss what personal challenges I faced while writing my book and who kept me going.

This interview ends the first week of my eight-week virtual book tour “40 Blogs in 40 (Business) Days”. A special thank you goes to Jim, Penny, Susan, Mary and Suzanne for being the first to embrace the concept of a virtual book tour. It was a blast.

I will spend the weekend organizing the appearances for next week. Destinations unknown! If you are a blogger interested in hosting a tour appearance, please email me.

Have a great weekend!

Glenda Visits Texas on Her Book Tour

Filed under: Virtual Book Tour — by at 2:25 am on Thursday, January 25, 2007

On the fourth stop of my virtual tour promoting my autobiography I’ll Do It Myself, I am off to Austin, Texas, to chat with Mary McDonald, CEO/CTO of the McDonald Consulting Group. Her blog Solo Entrepreneurs on WorldWIT (Women – Insight – Technology) is where I catch up with her today.

In today’s chat with Mary, I share how email is my most effective means of communication with the outside world and how the internet is constantly presenting opportunities to me. I also reveal my next plans, some of which may be surprising!

After reading the interview, I kindly ask that you leave a comment on Mary’s blog, sharing a thought or two, to show her appreciation for hosting this tour stop.

Thanks for coming along on my tour! Come back tomorrow to see where I’m off to next – or sign up in the upper right corner to receive updates in your email inbox. How cool is that!
